Saw a little begger
Walking down the street
In a worn out coat with beat up sneakers on his feet
Watching all the cars honk and stare as he flees
Than sometimes I wonder how cruel the world can be
He's lying on a park bench
Cold and alone
Seeing the children who laugh and throw the stones
Haunting my memory with his face froze in terror
He's calling and calling
But nobodies there
Sheltered by agony and intertwined with all his lies
The sad old begger wears his disguise

[Untitled]
The sun embarks at the end of the day,
and midnight goddesses come out to play.
Down the street and corner parking lot,
juxtaposing for their territory spot.
Smiles and winks as they try to please,
sizing you up to sell their sleaze.
Garments but rags that barely conceal,
they show off their wares that to men do appeal.
Your morals are lost as you turn a blind eye,
you don't even question or ask yourself why.
You lose yourself as intimacy is abashed,
sorrow and pity as your esteem becomes trashed.
An ageless profession of selling the deed,
all for the want of money and greed.
And as the sun breaks and its position restored,
this ritual will repeat again and evermore.
and midnight goddesses come out to play.
Down the street and corner parking lot,
juxtaposing for their territory spot.
Smiles and winks as they try to please,
sizing you up to sell their sleaze.

An Open Mind
An open mind is thoughtful,
It hears but does not judge.
Respecting all opinions,
Not one does it begrudge.
It never stands accusing,
Those times it disagrees.
It's range of understanding,
Is deeper than the seas.
It does not draw conclusions,
Whenever doubt remains.
It welcomes new ideas,
For knowledge is its gain.
It will not point a finger,
When opinions are wrong.
It presents its evidence,
To help the point along.
When its theories don't hold up,
It seeks to understand.
The truth is all that matters,
So wisdom can expand.
An open mind has insight,
It will not condescend.
Respect is always given,
On that, you can depend.
It will not be offensive,
With loud profanity.
Such blatant indignation,
Serves only vanity.
The one who demands respect,
But gives none in return,
Does not have an open mind,
And they will never learn.
For respect is the answer,
The mana of the wise.
It broadens our horizons,
And opens up our eyes.
Only with a selfless heart
Can true wisdom be found.
Those who heed the selfish call,
Can hear no other sound.
He who seeks enlightenment
Will ultimately find,
That an altruistic path
Inspires an open mind.
It hears but does not judge.
Respecting all opinions,
Not one does it begrudge.
It never stands accusing,
Those times it disagrees.
It's range of understanding,
Is deeper than the seas.
